Dr. S.J. Thikane

Dr. Swapnil J. Thikane is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Sanjay Ghodawat Institute, Atigre. He holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi, and is a Gold Medalist in B.E. Mechanical Engineering from Shivaji University, Kolhapur. With over 15 years of industrial, teaching, research, and academic administration experience, he has established himself as a dedicated educator, researcher, and academic leader. His areas of expertise include Thermal Engineering, Heat Transfer Enhancement, Renewable Energy, Fluid Mechanics, Mechatronics, Industry 4.0, Artificial Intelligence in Mechanical Engineering, and Sustainable Manufacturing. He has published 25+ research papers, including several in Scopus-indexed international journals, and has 02 granted and 03 published patents on his name. He also serves as a reviewer for reputed international journals and conferences and has received Best Research Paper Awards at national and international conferences. Dr. Thikane has played an active role in Outcome-Based Education (OBE) and NBA accreditation, providing consultancy to several engineering institutions. He has also contributed as an expert member in the MSBTE NEP-based curriculum development for Diploma Mechanical Engineering. A Certified Innovation Ambassador under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, he currently serves as the Vice President of the Institution's Innovation Council (IIC). Through his commitment to quality education, research, innovation, and industry collaboration, he continuously strives to develop competent engineers with strong technical knowledge, professional ethics, and an innovative mindset.
